Wenchang Coconut Grove Prima Resort is located in a famous coconut grove, the resort sits on the classic palm-fringed beach. Under those palms are 202 rooms, mostly in one- and two-storey, stylish wooden chalets that vary in price depending on size and their proximity to the beach. And it's a great beach for exploring. There are a few waves (size depending on the proximity of a typhoon) and plenty of WWII concrete bunkers, including one smack bang in the middle of the resort - apparently the beach here would have made a fine landing spot. The two restaurants serve mainly Chinese cuisine at relatively reasonable prices for a resort. All up, this is one of the most affordable beachside resorts in Hainán, particularly in the low season.
