Seven Fairy Mountain
Location: Baoting County
9km to the northeast of Baoting County is Baoting National Rainforest Park. The Seven Fairy Mountain is right in the park as one of the famous scenic spots on Hainan Island. The mountain’s elevation is 1126 meters above sea level. There are seven stones projecting to the sky on the top of the mountain, just like seven fingers pointing to the sky, so is called Seven-Finger Mountain by the local people. During noon time, the majestic statues of the stones look like seven swords as the mist is dispelled. To look from a long distance, the seven peaks look like seven beautiful ladies, standing in thin veils, so come with the name of Seven Fairy Mountain.
There are numerous waterfalls scattered in the rainforest with inhabiting little creatures such as crabs, small fish and so on. Every now and then, you can see beautiful butterflies flying over your head. At the same time you can watch the spiders weaving its webs, and hear the singing of certain insects. Winding through the forest, you can take a rest as there are small huts and stone benches placed by the locals or you can wash your sweating face in the water ponds to get rid of your fatigue.
The way leading to the peak is thoroughly paved with stones. As the gradient of the mountain is about 60 degrees, so it is fenced with banister rails. On the top of the mountain, you can’t help but think that all the mountains beneath your feet become so small. You must be wondering at the marvelous nature on the earth.
The foot of the mountain, is dotted with more than twenty hot springs. Among them, seven belong to self-spray hot springs with water in the amount of 7000 cubic meters/day. The highest temperature reaches 94℃ while the average is about 70℃. As hot spring contains rich mineral deposits good for health, many people come here for hot spring bath. It is said hot springs can cure such diseases as rheumatism, dermatosis and itchiness etc. After the exhausting mountain climbing, it certainly can ease your ache and abate your sour legs and feet.
With the vigorous development of Hainan’s tourism industry, there are more and more tourists coming to Baoting Qixian Mountain Hot Spring Tourism Area for mountain climbing, soaking in the hot springs, vacationing and recreation.
