Course A: Mystic Course
Course Description
Hole 1 Par 4
| Championship |
435 |
Tournament |
378 |
Mens |
350 |
Ladies |
273 |
The first hole of the Mystic Course is a slight dogleg left opening par 4. Longer hitters can carry the left fairway bunker off the tee for a shorter approach to a slightly elevated green whereas shorter hitters must play safe off the tee between the two fairway bunkers leaving a longer approach. Like many of the greens at Mystic Springs it is elevated requiring the use of an extra club to ensure carrying your ball all the way onto the green and avoiding trouble short.
Hole 2 Par 3
| Championship |
141 |
Tournament |
123 |
Mens |
120 |
Ladies |
98 |
A scenic downhill Par 3 which requires a precise short iron shot. Three large bunkers protect the front of the green with dense undergrowth protects a pin located on the top level at the back of the green. Any shot missing the green will leave a tough up and down.
Hole 3 Par 4
| Championship |
448 |
Tournament |
445 |
Mens |
440 |
Ladies |
270 |
The signature hole at Mystic Springs. A demanding drive is required to carry the gully and to position your ball on the fairway. Even a ball that is in the fairway leaves a decision for the player as to whether he has an option to go for the green. The shot requires an uphill shot off an uneven lie and the safe option is to lay up and go for the green on your third shot. Pars will be rare on this hole and 5 is a good score!
Hole 4 Par 4 .
| Championship |
389 |
Tournament |
359 |
Mens |
309 |
Ladies |
281 |
A slight fade off the tee leaves a mid to short iron uphill second shot. Take at least 1-2 extra clubs for the second shot and avoid the greenside bunkers left and right. The green slopes severely from back to front so be careful on this green.
Hole 5 Par 4 .
| Championship |
435 |
Tournament |
343 |
Mens |
312 |
Ladies |
285 |
Another scenic hole which plays severely downhill off the tee. Pick your target to the right of the large stone marker at the corner of the dogleg. A solid drive or fairway wood from the tee leaves a mid-short iron approach to a slightly elevated green.
Hole 6 Par 4
| Championship |
401 |
Tournament |
366 |
Mens |
354 |
Ladies |
200 |
After a short break at the scenic half way house located behind #6 tee you wil be ready to attack this straightaway par 4. Take an extra club for your second shot to ensure your ball carries far enough to land on the putting surface well clear of the deep bunker guarding the front of the green.
Hole 7 Par 5
| Championship |
587 |
Tournament |
546 |
Mens |
528 |
Ladies |
458 |
A par 5 which plays downhill from the tee. After finding the fairway off the tee the second shot must be positioned over the water leaving a short iron approach to an undulating green.
Hole 8 Par 3
| Championship |
182 |
Tournament |
170 |
Mens |
149 |
Ladies |
127 |
A downhill par 3 looking back towards the clubhouse. With altitude from the tee and factoring any wind and pin positions the hole could play as much a 3 clubs shorter than the actual yardage. Water lurks behind the green and a ball landing short and right of the green will roll towards the water hazard. The green is large so to have a legitimate birdie chance you need to hit your tee shot close to the hole.
Hole 9 Par 5
| Championship |
544 |
Tournament |
502 |
Mens |
465 |
Ladies |
410 |
A straightaway par 5 which gives the longer hitters a chance for a birdie. A generous fairway gives the opportunity to position your second shot for an easy approach to this double green which is shared with hole #18.
Hole 10 Par 5 .
| Championship |
550 |
Tournament |
511 |
Mens |
465 |
Ladies |
420 |
This par 5 to open the back nine on the Mystic Course requires a precise 2nd shot to avoid the water down the right of the fairway. After a well positioned 2nd shot you will need to be accurate with your wedge to leave a makeable birdie putt on a green that slopes from left to right towards the water.
Hole 11 Par 3
| Championship |
211 |
Tournament |
177 |
Mens |
177 |
Ladies |
133 |
A demanding par 3 requiring a long iron or hybrid club to a green protected on the right by two deep bunkers, and bunkers behind the green. If length is an issue to reach the green then play short and left for an easy up and down.
Hole 12 Par 4 .
| Championship |
460 |
Tournament |
430 |
Mens |
391 |
Ladies |
350 |
A strong par 4 requiring a well struck drive to an open wide fairway. Once in the fairway an uphill second shot still needs a fairway wood or hybrid to reach the green surface. Any ball landing short of the green will roll back down the fairway leaving a tricky up and down.
Hole 13 Par 4
| Championship |
342 |
Tournament |
297 |
Mens |
258 |
Ladies |
235 |
Another scenic short par 4. A fairway wood or hybrid club is enough to reach the fairway and leave a wedge approach to the small green protected by water at the front. Trouble lurks off the tee to the left of the fairway in the form of a bunker and trees and also water on the right. A short but tricky hole #13.
Hole 14 Par 4
| Championship |
431 |
Tournament |
416 |
Mens |
416 |
Ladies |
247 |
Another straightaway par 4 requiring a solid drive and second shot. Avoid the bunker short left of the green and take enough club to carry the ball onto the putting surface. If you cant reach the green in two lay up short of the greenside bunkers for an easier pitch shot onto the green.
Hole 15 Par 5
| Championship |
550 |
Tournament |
502 |
Mens |
433 |
Ladies |
398 |
A birdie chance on this par 5 hole. A wide fairway protected on the left by a long bunker gives the player a chance to play their second shot within wedge distance of the green. After an accurate approach to this small green you will be left with a good birdie opportunity.
Hole 16 Par 3
| Championship |
142 |
Tournament |
129 |
Mens |
101 |
Ladies |
101 |
The last of the short holes needing only a short iron to a green protected by a large bunker front left. The green is relatively large so trust your club choice and you will be left with a birdie putt.
Hole 17 Par 4
| Championship |
472 |
Tournament |
457 |
Mens |
445 |
Ladies |
406 |
A long tough par 4 playing uphill all the way. There is more fairway to the right off the tee than appears and will also make for a shorter approach shot. Again take enough club on your approach shot to this long and elevated green. Par will be a good score on this hole.
Hole 18 Par 4 .
| Championship |
455 |
Tournament |
426 |
Mens |
388 |
Ladies |
327 |
A slightly downhill tee shot and a wide open fairway calls for a solid tee shot to leave a mid-long iron approach. The green is large and is shared with hole #9 where the only trouble is in the form of the bunker left of the green. Two well struck shots will leave you with a chance for your final birdie of the round.
Course B: Springs Course
Course Description
Hole 1 Par 4 .
| Championship |
462 |
Tournament |
441 |
Mens |
402 |
Ladies |
354 |
A strong opening hole to a wide and generous fairway. Dont be intimidated by the water off the tee and choose your tee box carefully. A good second shot is required to carry your ball onto the green surface which slopes from back to front.
Hole 2 Par 5 .
| Championship |
584 |
Tournament |
540 |
Mens |
504 |
Ladies |
444 |
A par 5 hole which bends to the right after the drive. Out of bounds is on the right which protects the mango orchards on that side. Lay up left of the fairway bunkers to leave the best angle to approach the green and set up a birdie opportunity.
Hole 3 Par 4 .
| Championship |
373 |
Tournament |
344 |
Mens |
308 |
Ladies |
251 |
A good medium length par 4 that plays longer than its yardage due to the uphill second shot. A bunker on the left side of the fairway and trees and rough protect the right side so a straight drive is needed to hit the fairway. Take more club to ensure you reach the green surface and avoid the bunker short of the green.
Hole 4 Par 3 .
| Championship |
202 |
Tournament |
179 |
Mens |
157 |
Ladies |
137 |
An elevated tee on this par 3 hole requires a carry over a gully to a large green which slopes from back to front. Bunkers guard the front and left side of the green. Short and right is a safe option for those who cannot reach the green and will leave a good chance to save par.
Hole 5 Par 4 .
| Championship |
435 |
Tournament |
404 |
Mens |
333 |
Ladies |
236 |
A strong par 4 requires a straight drive to a flat fairway. Your second shot will be with a long iron and as the green sits slightly elevated be sure to take enough club to reach the green which is protected by a bunker on the left side.
Hole 6 Par 3 .
| Championship |
227 |
Tournament |
197 |
Mens |
157 |
Ladies |
131 |
A long par 3 playing slightly downhill and protected by two large greenside bunkers on the left front and right side of the green. A large green allows for multiple pin positions with a bailout area to the left of the green should you miss your tee shot.
Hole 7 Par 4
| Championship |
374 |
Tournament |
340 |
Mens |
307 |
Ladies |
260 |
A great medium length par 4 hole which will require you to drive your ball as close to the fairway bunker as possible. This will leave a short iron approach to an elevated green which is protected by a deep bunker at the front. Take at least one more club for your approach shot to ensure you reach the green surface. Better to be long than short on this approach shot.
Hole 8 Par 5
| Championship |
567 |
Tournament |
544 |
Mens |
520 |
Ladies |
458 |
A demanding par 5 hole which doglegs to the left after the drive. The longer hitters have a chance to carry the fairway bunkers on the left but most golfers will need to play to the right of the bunkers. The second shot must be played with a fairway wood to the right side of the fairway so as to avoid the water and bunkers on the left. The green sits above the fairway level and requires good judgement by the golfer as to what club to select for your approach shot.
Hole 9 Par 4 .
| Championship |
487 |
Tournament |
461 |
Mens |
437 |
Ladies |
408 |
Another strong hole to finish the front 9. This par 4 plays as a par 5 hole for most players as water guards the left and front of the green requiring most players to lay up for their second shot. Dont ruin your score by being too greedy on this hole and play for a good pitch and putt to try and save your par.
Hole 10 Par 4 .
| Championship |
437 |
Tournament |
400 |
Mens |
358 |
Ladies |
350 |
A beautiful par 4 to open the back nine of the Springs Course. A slight dogleg left hole where you need to position your tee shot in the centre of the fairway between the bunkers. From the fairway you are faced with a slightly downhill shot to the green which sits in one of the most scenic spots on the golf course.
Hole 11 Par 5
| Championship |
630 |
Tournament |
600 |
Mens |
536 |
Ladies |
482 |
The longest hole at Mystic Springs. This par 5 plays over 600 yards and is uphill most of the way towards the green. Water lurks on the right side off the tee and for your second shot. Once you reach the green the challenge is not over as you will be tested on this undulating green.
Hole 12 Par 4 .
| Championship |
478 |
Tournament |
454 |
Mens |
412 |
Ladies |
374 |
A long par 4 requiring an accurate and long tee shot. The second shot is downhill to a green protected on the right by a bunker and water. Lay up short of the green if you are in doubt to reach the green in 2 shots and play for a good pitch shot to try and save your par.
Hole 13 Par 3
| Championship |
154 |
Tournament |
134 |
Mens |
130 |
Ladies |
99 |
A short par 3 gives you a chance to pick up a shot but you will need to find the putting surface and avoid the water short and bunker on the left side of the green.
Hole 14 Par 4
| Championship |
467 |
Tournament |
446 |
Mens |
391 |
Ladies |
344 |
The toughest par 4 on the back nine. It plays uphill and generally into the wind and only the longest hitters will reach the green in two shots. The fairway is narrow and the green small on this hole where 5 is a good score.
Hole 15 Par 4
| Championship |
339 |
Tournament |
321 |
Mens |
303 |
Ladies |
299 |
An intimidating hole from the tee but it only plays as a drive and short iron. It is important to drive the ball in the fairway which will leave you a second shot from a downhill lie to an elevated green. Play long with your approach shot to avoid the deep bunker guarding the front right of the green.
Hole 16 Par 3
| Championship |
258 |
Tournament |
217 |
Mens |
155 |
Ladies |
131 |
A long par 3 to a generous green. There is an opportunity to run the ball up on the front part of the green as the fairway sits open to the player. Although a long hole you can still make par with a good chip and putt from the front of the green. Stay clear of the large bunker to the right of the green.
Hole 17 Par 4
| Championship |
412 |
Tournament |
384 |
Mens |
323 |
Ladies |
286 |
The hole is characterised by the 100 year old Longan tree sitting just off the tee. Your line is over the rock to the right side of the fairway which will give you the best angle for your second shot. The green is protected by a bunker at the front which you need to avoid. Once you reach the green you will need to negotiate a tricky and undulating putting surface.
Hole 18 Par 5
| Championship |
556 |
Tournament |
528 |
Mens |
458 |
Ladies |
414 |
The final hole on the Springs Course which from the tee box gives you a majestic view of the Mystic Springs Golf Club and surrounding area. Pick an aiming point for the drive and fire away! Once your ball is on the fairway you will need to cross a water hazard and position your ball for an approach to the green. Water left and bunkers on the right of the fairway make the layup shot challenging. Keep your concentration to avoid the hazards and water left of the green and finish with a solid par. |
